Come as many as you can to the public debate/forum organised by MPs from our region Raphaël Gérard and Véronique Hammerer on Friday, 28 September, at 8pm, salle polyvalente, Braud et Saint-Louis !

Message from the president of the DDME
to members and the readers of this blog

I am writing to update you on initiatives we have taken and action steps for the near future.
As you have seen from our blog, we have gathered quite a bit of information that allows us to grasp the many facets and implications of the wind farm project being proposed by EDF-Renouvelables on the right bank of the estuary of the Gironde; information related to biodiversity, health, infrastructure, the regional economy, tourism, property values and impact on our daily lives.

We now have a clear understanding of the menace this project represents for those who live here and for those who visit our beautiful region.
We have spent much time contacting scientific experts, governmental and elected officials both in France and in Europe, asking them to support us in blocking this project.
It is now time to raise our opposition to another, more direct level, by meeting with other residents of the region everywhere we can: in the supermarket and weekly produce markets, at regional special events, as well as canvassing people door to door.

Our elected deputies have organised a public debate/forum this coming Friday, 28 September 2018 at 8:00pm in the Kléber Marsaud Community Centre, 27 avenue de la République, Braud et Saint-Louis. We have been told that EDF- Renouvelables will be there. This will be a very important moment for everyone to express their opposition to the wind farm project.

WE URGE YOU ALL TO COME, SPEAK UP, AND SHOW OUR STRENGTH!

Please do not hesitate to contact us – via the DDME.fr blog – with any concrete ideas you may have for our operational team, and how we can collectively best fight this project.
There will eventually be a public inquiry regarding the project. We all need to prepare for it. The louder and more visible we are, the better chance we have of stopping this wind farm project for good.

Let’s be sure there are never any wind turbines in our marshlands!

Guillaume Boraud
President of the DDME, with the Operational Team of the DDME
